Yvette Issar works for the Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) in Geneva, where she serves as the Peace and Disarmament Programme Representative.

She is an international humanitarian lawyer with nearly two decades of experience in international humanitarian law, disarmament and multilateral affairs, and has worked with the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as several civil society and academic institutions.

Issar earned her Ph.D. in Law from the University of Geneva, where her research focused on armed non-state actors. She also holds an LL.M. from the Geneva Academy for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.  Her research interests are centered on the humanitarian engagement of armed non-state actors, detention in armed conflict, and humanitarian disarmament initiatives.
