​Katherine Young is the Research & Monitoring Coordinator for the Explosive Weapons Monitor, a civil society research initiative of the International Network on Explosive Weapons. In addition to coordination this initiative, she conducts and oversees the development of research and analysis on harms from and practices of explosive weapon use in populated areas and supports the development of research methodologies and programs. 

Young was previously Senior Researcher of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) Monitor, a project of Control Arms.  In this role she managed the production of flagship publications and conducted research in support of ATT implementation and transparency of the conventional arms trade. Prior to that she was the Program Manager of the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School, where she managed the day-to-day operations of the International Human Rights Clinic and supported research in areas such as humanitarian disarmament, business and human rights and accountability litigation. ​
