Ruth Rohde
Ruth Rohde is a researcher and project coordinator at Shadow World Investigations UK (SWI). In her role, she is working primarily on investigating, analyzing and campaigning against militarism and a harmful international arms trade. Rohde’s focus in recent years has been on British and German arms exports, particularly their impact in Yemen and Palestine. She is also the program manager of the Arms Trade Corruption Tracker, a project she co-founded in 2020 that maintains an online database of cases of corruption in the arms trade.
Rohde holds an M.A. in International History and Politics from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Her M.A. thesis dealt with unarmed civilian intervention in conflict. Over several years, she supported a variety of campaigns, for example, to hold arms companies legally accountable for illegal small arms exports, international nuclear disarmament, and advocacy for a revised and restrictive German arms export control law.
