Katrin Atkins
Katrin Atkins has 15 years of experience in marketing and communication and worked for 16 years as an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician and diver, technical advisor, as well as operations, quality, and monitoring & evaluation specialist in military and humanitarian mine action projects predominantly in South East Asia and Africa. Since 2017, she has been working in the mine action sector as an independent consultant specializing on land release, residual contamination management, risk management, quality management and standards. She currently works with the Swiss government, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines – Cluster Munition Coalition (ICBL-CMC), the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), Mines Advisory Group (MAG), World without Mines and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
Atkins holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the School of Design in Berne, Switzerland; a B.A. in Service Marketing & Management from the University of Applied Sciences and Art, Lucerne, Switzerland; and an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
