Júlia Codina Sariols is the Global Lead of the International Network on Explosive Weapons (INEW), a civil society network of over 50 organizations working to end the use of explosive weapons with wide area effects in populated areas. She leads the network's advocacy and coordination on the implementation and universalization of the 2022 Political Declaration, covering national policy and practice on the use of these weapons to the reverberating effects of bombing and shelling on essential services and civilian infrastructure.

Codina Sariols has over nine years of experience in policy and advocacy on conflict, fragility and the protection of civilians, across UN agencies, the OECD and international NGOs. She has worked extensively within multilateral spaces, including UN processes in New York and Geneva.

Prior to joining INEW, Codina Sariols led advocacy and programmes at the UN Environment Programme in Nairobi. She previously worked as Oxfam's Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead in Ukraine, where she authored the organization's public positions on the use of explosive weapons and attacks on civilian infrastructure; in the OECD's Crises and Fragility team, working on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus and drivers of fragility; and with UNRWA in Lebanon on protection and advocacy. She received her master's in human rights and humanitarian action from Sciences Po Paris and her bachelor's in political science and administration from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. ​​
