León Castellanos-Jankiewicz is senior researcher at the Asser Institute for International and European Law in The Hague, and Academic Coordinator of the Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research. His work focuses on the human rights implications of irresponsible arms trade and access to remedies for gun victims through transnational civil litigation. He serves as supervisor of the International Law Clinic on Access to Justice for Gun Violence at the University of Amsterdam, which focuses on legal remedies available to gun victims across European jurisdictions. Castellanos-Jankiewicz also sits on the Advisory Committee of Global Action on Gun Violence, a U.S.-based non-profit working to improve gun control through litigation and policy advocacy. He publishes regularly in English and Spanish, and is also fluent in French.   Previously, he was Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute, Florence, where he worked with the Law Department. Castellanos-Jankiewicz holds a PhD in International Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
