Cannelle Lavite is a French trained lawyer and independent legal expert on transnational litigation for corporate accountability. She recently was co-program director of the Business and Human Rights program at the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), where she worked since 2018 on an international litigation strategy addressing European arms traders and export authorities in the context of Yemen, as well as the landmark criminal complaint for financing terrorism and complicity in crimes against humanity in Syria against french multinational company Lafarge. She was awarded a Master of Laws from the Université de Montréal, Canada, and the Université de Lyon, France. 

Her doctoral thesis looks at the protection of whistleblowers under asylum law. Before working with the ECCHR, she worked for local organizations in Brazil and Mongolia focusing on socio-economic rights and at Human Rights Watch on the trial of Hissène Habré.
